s TECNOL analitzador d'espectres. Def. del Diccionari de Telecomunicacions: Instrument per a mesurar l'espectre de freqüències de senyals. Consisteix en un sistema receptor heterodí de banda ampla format per un seguit detapes (s'utilitzen diverses freqüències intermèdies). El senyal que es connecta a la seva entrada s'aplica directament a un atenuador variable, normalment amb salts de 10 dB, per obtenir a la seva sortida el nivell de potència òptim per atacar el mesclador. A la sortida de lúltim mesclador s'hi connecta un amplificador per augmentar el nivell del senyal abans de connectar-lo a l'entrada d'un altre filtre passabanda, que presenta, però, la peculiaritat de tenir una amplada de banda variable: aquest filtre, anomenat filtre de resolució, és el que fixarà el nivell màxim de prestacions de l'aparell. Hi ha un amplificador logarítmic capaç de donar un senyal de sortida proporcional al logaritme del senyal d'entrada, fet que permet directament la conversió a dB. A continuació s'hi connecta un detector que dóna un senyal de baixa freqüència, proporcional a l'amplitud del de RF a l'entrada. Abans de connectar la sortida del detector a la pantalla de l'analitzador, es disposa un filtre passabaixes, anomenat filtre de vídeo amb freqüència de tall variable, que elimina els components de més alta freqüència que pertorben la mesura. Els analitzadors de FFT poden operar fins a pocs MHz, i es basen en el càlcul en temps real de la transformada ràpida de Fourier (FFT, de fast Fourier transform); el senyal analògic que es vol mesurar es digitalitza i es processa a fi d'obtenir i representar en una pantalla el seu espectre calculat a partir de les mostres del senyal temporal. L'analitzador d'espectres òptic, usat en sistemes de fibra òptica, es basa en una descomposició de la llum mitjançant prismes i permet visualitzar des de l'espectre dinfrarojos fins al de la llum visible. -
